    Resident Newsletter | Springtime 2017

Welcome to our monthly Pinewood Estates newsletter. Here, residents of Pinewood Estates Manufactured Housing Community can find updated announcements and community information, tips for home and yard maintenance, and even a new recipe to try.  As community events arise, details will be found here as well.

    Message From The Manager

Spring is finally arriving, with warmer weather and showers preparing for those beautiful May flowers!  We’ve done the first application of fertilizer to help green up all the grass, so that means lawn care and mowing time is almost here.  You’ll notice at the entrance to our community, all the flower beds have been cleaned out and beautiful violas and pansies are going in.  Daffodils are already starting to push up and bloom for us.  Summer bulbs are being planted for a beautiful show that will arrive late July or August.  If you haven’t put in your summer bulbs, you’ve still got time.

Spring cleaning notices have gone out to many residents.  Some homes need repairs, such as painting and roofing, from the damage caused by the elements of winter.  Please take a few minutes to look around your home and take advantage of the nice weather to do those repairs.

Please remember that any improvements to your home such as changing the paint color, adding a deck, or overhauling your landscaping needs to be approved in advance.  You can submit a sketch via email with a general description of what you’d like to speed along the approval process.

As a reminder, our Annual Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 8th at 9:00 a.m. in our community park.  There will be plenty of hidden treasures in the eggs for the different age groups: 4 and under, 5-8 years, and 9-11 years.  Bring your own baskets and camera. I’ve heard there will be a special bunny there for the kids.  It’s also a good opportunity to meet your neighbors.

    Late payment policy
Just a reminder to help you avoid the difficulty of late payment fees—Lot rent is due in the Pinewood Estates office by the 1st of each month. Rent not paid and received by the 5th of each month is considered late and a late fee of $25 plus $5 per day has to be paid.

If you have a specific situation, come by the office and let’s come up with a plan together to get you on track. If you stop by the office, you are free to drop your payment through the mail drop. If you are sending payment through the post office, allow time for the mail to reach us on time. Keep in mind that if your rent isn’t received on time, late fees have to be charged and paid. Late notices will be sent out in the morning, the 6th of each month. Avoid late fees by paying on time.

    Ingredients

    9 inch deep-dish pie crust

(Use purchased frozen crust, one made from a mix, or homemade crust—baked.)

4-6 cups fresh strawberries, quartered and hulled

    1 cup water

    1 cup sugar

1 3oz. box of Strawberry gelatin

    3 tablespoons of cornstarch

    Instructions:

Combine water, sugar and cornstarch in saucepan. Bring to a boil. Whisk constantly until it become thick—about 3 minutes. Then whisk in the gelatin and cook for one minute longer or until gelatin is completely dissolved.

    —

Remove from heat and let cool for about 15 minutes. As the glaze cools, place strawberries straight into the baked pie crust.

    —

Pour the glaze over the strawberries.  Refrigerate glaze until sets. Top with whipped cream to serve.
